Medical and

Diagnostic Services

  • In-House Bloodwork and Diagnostics – Our in-house laboratory is well equipped to provide your pets bloodwork results quickly, allowing us to efficiently evaluate and diagnose potential problems. The testing available in clinic includes, but is not limited to, Complete Blood Counts (CBC) evaluating Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and Platelets, serum chemistry’s evaluating organ function including liver and kidneys, electrolytes, pancreatic testing, feline leukemia/FIV testing and Heartworm and Tick testing. Any further or more specialized tests are sent to laboratories across Canada and the US.

  • Radiology- When your pet is sick, x-rays are routinely used to help determine the cause of the problem, to rule out potential problems, or provide a list of possible issues. X-rays provide lots of valuable information about your pet’s bones, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines), respiratory system (lungs), heart, urinary system (kidney, bladder, prostate), and organs such as liver and spleen. Depending on what is going on with your pet, x-rays can be used as a lone diagnostic tool, or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools such as bloodwork to help determine exactly what is going on.

We also provide in house fecal testing, urinalysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, Fine needle aspirated of masses and growths and much more!

In order to properly be able to visualize structures on an x-ray, pets need to remain perfectly still while the x-ray is being taken. In some cases, a brief sedation may be required to obtain images.
